So we have heard...this fall the military look is in. Jackets, sweaters, neutrals, camoflage... you name it. But what shoes can go along with this tough look? Two words: Combat boots. People everywhere are lacing/buckling up their boots for this season, my roommate actually mentioned how she is planning to buy a pair. But how can you choose? There are so many cool pairs out there in different colors, patterns, laces, and heights. Before this interesting footwear was actually a fashion, they were designed to actually be durable for soldiers to wear during actual "combat" which is good enough to resist cold weather and water. Hey New Yorkers, this is a wardrobe staple must, knowing how harsh the chilly fall/winter can be! Here are a few styles that caught my eye:
Love the classic black leather and perfect height.
What do you think about these Woodies? I got them two weeks ago at Nordstrom because I was familiar with the brand from Jeffrey Campbell, and lately every shoe store I go to...I see clogs! I did a little research and found that they look exactly like a pair of clogs from the Chanel Spring/Summer '10 Runway. It seems like every major brand including Sam Edelman, Steve Madden, Stuart Weitzman and more are making a version of this wooden shoe.
Sam Edelman "Flair Clogs"
Steve Madden "Daynty"Clogs
Stuart Weitzman "Sequoia" Clogs
In UK Vogue's March Issue, Alexa Chung was spotted wearing a pair of Chanel Clogs. She also wore them to Chanel's couture show back in January. Hey, we see these shoes walk down the runway but it seems they can actually work in real life, I mean they are pretty comfy for heels...walking down the street shouldn't be a prob!
So if you know me, autumn is my absolute favorite season of the year. I love the transition from the hot summer sun to the crisp autumn air and the warm shades of red the leaves change. Beside from all the outdoorsy beauty of autumn, what's the best part about the season? A new wardrobe, of course! Layering is the best- and the fashion forecasters were right. Going back a few months we all knew that military jackets are going to be in style this season, and now we're not that far away from the chilly weather of autumn. So that means we are almost ready to get cozy in chic outerwear. Working at Nordstrom, I have come to find that our selection of military jackets have been quite a seller! The same style called the "Rubbish Military Knit Jacket" was admired by the young teens to the middle aged. It came in the earth tones of green, blue, and gray. Collections such as Burberry Prorsum, Chanel, and Andrew Gn have shown military pieces down the runway. So troops, new mission: find the perfect military jacket!
