Love is in the air.

Happy heart day everyone! And it just so happens that Valentine's Day falls on Fashion Week, once again. And you know who's show am I dying to see the most? Betsey Johnson is showing her Fall 2011 Collection tonight at 6pm at Lincoln Center. Being known for her loud, one-of-a kind designs, I am excited to see what she is debuting next. This season, cupid has shot its bow and arrow making romance and fashion fall in love all over again. This fall, look out for soft whimsical fabrics, dusty pinks and rosey reds. If you've seen Alexander Wang's recent show, he incorporated much of this feminine romance into his own style of sportswear. From the oversized, flowy capes to the puffer coats seen down the runway, Wang used a variety of different fabrics in a very neutral color palette of blacks, grays and creams, with a few pops of light color. Speaking of romantic, Elise Øverland put on quite an impressive show...with figure skaters?! Yes...figure skaters. Even Johnny Weir was there. The models of Øverland's show nearly froze, standing on six inch platform stilettos while having figure skaters twirl around them on the ice rink at The Standard Hotel. The lightness of the collection altogether had a distinct charm, and she's not afraid to use color. The feathery minis, boxy pastel tops, and oil printed dresses were pretty yet modern. This trend is already on its way to ready-to-wear fashion. Brands such as Kenzie, Tulle, and BB Dakota are showing their love for soft and feminine styles. Talk about romance!
