New Semester, New Planner!

I remember every year at the beginning of each school year I would run around crazy looking for the perfect planner. I probably paid every bookstore in the city a visit. But why am I so specific? Because a busy schedule calls for a clear cut planner to organize the crazyness! I like a planner that shows all seven days and no lines- because they limit so much space, but post-its are a life saver. Finally last year, I was just leaving Borders as I passed by the 'Do It All' Bold Blossoms 17-Month Planner by Orange Circle Studio. A year later, I'm still using it! I absolutely love it, so much that I'm about to order a new one! I just shopped on for the 2012 Lily Ashbury 'Do It All' Planner. It comes on Monday, cannot wait!

FIDOO: The World's First Online Fashion Search Engine

Google? I'm about to toss that like I did last season's handbag. Just kidding, it comes in handy in times of need...but as for now, I'm moving on to something bigger and better. FIDOO is the world's first online fashion search engine. It may just be the best invention since pantyhose in the 1950's; a basic necessity. It's one of those 'Why haven't I thought of creating that?' type of situations. Our world today is expanding very much in technology, especially in the fashion industry. The best part of this site is the elimination of time wasted on contacting stores to find out if an item is in stock- you can get the answer in just a click of a mouse! And you also get honest feedback from real people and who doesn't want that? It's like reading comments on Yelp! before enjoying dinner at a new restaurant downtown. Being a student at the Fashion Institute of Technology, the site not only helps in my personal shopping and research, but it's an amazing tool to use for future projects as well. Finding the correct brands and items quickly can be a challenge, but I feel that FIDOO will be a revolution.

And everyone- Please re-tweet this twitter post here:!/wendyxxlove

"Run" by The Knux Feat. Kid Cudi Music Video Shoot

This past Saturday, I assisted stylist Katharine Polk for the "Run" music video by The Knux, featuring Kid Cudi. The shoot was on location all around Manhattan, so every few hours was a new setting. We traveled from the studio to the Mondrian Hotel in Soho, to Webster Hall, to the Meatpacking District, and finally to Brooklyn. Katharine pulled a very eclectic selection of clothing- they were used for the models who were featured in the video. The style was very rock and roll- loose fits, leather, sequins, denim, fringes, headscarves, and heels were involved...and it looked amazing! All Saints, Foley + Corinna, Charles Henry, and R13 were some of the brands worn. Always used to being around fashion and editorial or look book shoots, it was definitely a change to be behind the scenes of a music video. Of course, fashion played a large helps define the character! But also the music captured the sound of the band. The Knux, is actually short for The Knuckle Heads, and the members include brothers Kentrell "Krispy" Lindsey and Alvin "Joey" Lindsey. Their alternative hip hop style is mixed between electronic and rock. Listen to them for yourself- and be ready to see their video "Run" coming soon!
