Labor Day Luxe - White Out The Rules

Labor Day may be the unofficial last day of summer. It's the toast of the season; to celebrate the achievement of workers, a weekend getaway, the start of a new school year, and the end of wearing white? Sure, white is appropriate for summer as it is cooling and comfortable, but what's the proper etiquette for wearing white after Labor Day? The old-school rule digs deeper than just practicality, although the actual history behind the reason varies. The origin dates back to the late 1800's to early 1900's, and the division of the upper and middle classes after the Civil War, where white was seen as a status symbol.

In our modern day, we have the luxury of fashion freedom. Speaking of luxury, white exudes elegance in a simple way. Last spring, we saw plenty of head-to-toe white looks come down the runways, ready for the fall/winter season. The beauty and boldness of white is perfect for the colder months; done right, it can be worn year round. It's about time we white out the rules.
