It’s been super cold here in New York—among freezing temps, cloud-filled skies, and serious snowstorms, lately I’ve found myself dreaming of sunshiney spring days that are ALMOST here. It couldn’t have been a better time to collaborate with BloomNation (a trusted company that supports local communities by partnering with independent florists and showcases their handcrafted arrangements) to share my favorite way to brighten up any space: with flowers, of course! The other day, I walked by a boutique in Chelsea and a pretty diverse bouquet of flowers caught my eye. I brought it home that evening and knew exactly which spot needed an energetic burst of color. I placed it in a green vase (that I found a few weeks ago at a thrift store), and set it next to my desk. And with every glance at the red, pink, yellow, and white petals, my mood is lifted, because somehow, flowers seem to have a power boost happiness. It’s no secret that beautiful blooms are a true decorative plus—in fact, it may be the oldest trick in the book! But sometimes, we can all use a little reminder to stop and smell the flowers.
